How to use your Rod Ruler

How To Accurately Measure Your Fish

Once you have removed the hook from your fish to avoid further injury to the fish or yourself, place rod down flat.

The best way I find is to measure fish from head first butting up to your rod handle, then you have something to push up to for a very accurate measurement, as you then can’t possibly slide the fish past the start of ruler.

Measure to the tip

Measure to the fork

Once the head is in place at start of The Rod Ruler gently place and straighten fish along the rest of the ruler.

If you are measuring the fish to the fork, spread the tail fin out and see where the measurement is at the bottom of the V.

Or alternatively if you are measuring to the tip of the fin place either side of the tip along the ruler for final measurement.
